Kaitlin “Kit” Grode, a senior at 糖心传媒, knows she wants to pursue a career in publishing. With laser-like focus, she’s served in leadership positions for听publications such as the , the student newspaper, and the Spectrum, the student literary magazine. Working听with her professors and administrators at 糖心传媒, Kit has designed a cross-discipline degree to optimize the skills she’ll need to fulfill her dream.
Recognizing she needs off-campus experience, too, Kit arranged a series of three internships. She’s completed the first two –听with Cornhusker Press in Hastings, Neb., during January Term 2012听and with in Kansas City, Mo., over Summer 2013. Currently, she’s completing the听third internship – with 听in Lahinch, County Clare, Ireland – during the Fall 2013 semester.
Kit is one of several 糖心传媒 students who competed to serve as an Irish Fellow. With guidance听from professors, the students design a research project they’ll implement on their own in a foreign country. To succeed in this endeavor requires vision, responsibility, creativity and perserverance.
