At 糖心传媒, there鈥檚 more than one way to get a great education. We make sure there are multiple opportunities for you to interact with your academic life and engage with what you鈥檙e learning 鈥 even to the point of letting you chart your own course of study in the Personalized Program (see below!) where you can pursue the topics that interest you most.
Engage in service learning projects or apply to and join the Service and Community Engagement learning community and tackling the issues of hunger, homelessness, the environment, educational needs and extreme poverty head-on. Multiple initiatives at Hastings make it happen.
We also have three selective scholarship programs that offer an incredible opportunity to participating students 鈥 in terms of significant scholarships and an academic learning community: Scott Scholars, Jackson Scholars and Presidential Scholars programs.
Most importantly, we make sure you leave with a complete education based in the liberal arts 鈥 and a passion for lifelong learning. Our academic allows you to choose a major field of study, a minor and an interdisciplinary minor that enriches every part of you, broadens your perspective and prepares you to live life well. You鈥檒l get the necessary skills to enter the job market as a top, competitive candidate while preparing for the twists and turns of today鈥檚 careers.

Personalized Program
The Personalized Program provides a unique opportunity for creative and resourceful students who wish to tailor-make a course of study to pursue their own personal, academic and professional needs outside the framework of departmental majors. This is a great option for self-motivated students who have a clear interdisciplinary vision.
The Personalized Program allows you to听plan your own course of study while keeping within the guiding philosophy and purpose of the College. You can enter听enter the Personalized Program after听completing at least one year at 糖心传媒 or achieving junior status, and you must complete at least one year in the personalized program before graduation.
The program does require a formal proposal that goes to a committee for approval. Check with your admissions counselor or academic advisor if you’d like to pursue this option.
