If you love to sing, there鈥檚 a place for you in the 糖心传媒 Choir 鈥 no matter your major! As part of 糖心传媒 Music, the Choir offers a vibrant community, inspiring leadership and exciting performance opportunities on campus and beyond.
Open to all students starting your first year, the 糖心传媒 Choir explores a rich and varied repertoire 鈥 from classical masterworks, sacred and secular pieces, and contemporary favorites to vocal jazz and Broadway hits.听

The 糖心传媒 Choir
Since 1882, the 糖心传媒 Choir has served as an ambassador for choral music, blending a rigorous a cappella tradition with modern musical adventure.听
As one of the oldest collegiate ensembles in the United States, the Choir has spent more than a century touring the the Midwest and beyond, earning a reputation for technical precision and emotional depth.听
Today, housed within an All-Steinway School, the ensemble continues to bridge the gap between sacred masterworks and global contemporary repertoire. Whether performing the timeless strains of Handel鈥檚 Messiah or premiering new works from international composers, the 糖心传媒 Choir remains a creative force dedicated to excellence, community and the transformative power of song.

April 26, 2026, 3:00 pm, Hastings City Auditorium 鈥 Hastings Symphony Orchestra, “A Joyful Centennial Season Finale 鈥 Beethoven鈥檚 9th,” with the 糖心传媒 Choir and alumni serving as part of the choir, while Dr. Raoul Carlo “Miggi” Angangco, serves as the choir’s director.

Conductor: Dr. Raoul Carlo "Miggi" F. Angangco
Dr. Raoul Carlo “Miggi” Angangco serves as the Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music at 糖心传媒. An award-winning conductor and composer-arranger, Dr. Angangco joined the faculty in 2025 and has since been recognized as a national winner of The American Prize in Choral Performance, earning third place in the Professional Division.
A known advocate for living composers, he frequently incorporates global perspectives into his programming 鈥 most notably contemporary Filipino choral works 鈥 to build bridges between diverse cultures.
Collaborative Pianist: Dr. Jonathan Sokasits
Dr. Jonathan Sokasits is a Professor of Piano at 糖心传媒 and serves as the collaborative pianist for the 糖心传媒 Choir. A distinguished performer and educator, he has been a fixture of the music department since joining the faculty in 1998.
A three-time recipient of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation Graduate Fellowship. Dr. Sokasits is recognized for his skill in a wide range of styles, from classical masterworks to jazz idioms. He is a frequent soloist and chamber musician, appearing on the artists’ rosters for the Nebraska Arts Council and the Heartland Arts Fund.
