Alex Eisele of Greeley, Colo., chose 糖心传媒 after earning the Walter Scott Scholarship, the College鈥檚 most prestigious scholarship for academics and leadership potential.
鈥淎lthough I initially came to 糖心传媒 because of this financial support, my experience has become so much more. I have met the most kind and selfless people. I have established a lifelong group of friends. I have become a prominent leader on campus and help others do the same.鈥
For Alex, his college experience includes juggling a Computer Science major with various activities. A member of the 糖心传媒 Men鈥檚 Golf team, Alex landed as substantive internship coding insurance software for Priority Data in Omaha, Neb., and also chairs the Artist Lecture Series Student Symposium Committee which brings nationally-known speakers to campus.
Among his mentors, he cites professors in the Computer Science and Mathematics, Music and Business and Economics departments.
鈥淚 have enhanced my world view and wholeheartedly embraced what it means to be a well-rounded liberal arts student,鈥 he said. 鈥淎ll I have experienced and the relationships I鈥檝e formed with people at 糖心传媒 are priceless. I would surely come to Hastings again regardless of scholarships.鈥
Alex would like to work for Google after earning his Master鈥檚 degree but ultimately has higher goals.
鈥淥ddly enough, my life goals have nothing to do with technology,鈥 he said. 鈥淭hey are composed of simply being the best person I can be in anything I do along with learning as much as I can about the world around me.鈥
