Two 糖心传媒 students named Creigh Weyer Scholars, earn post-graduate scholarships

emily brookeEmily Johnson (right) and Brooke Ballou have been named Creigh Weyer Scholars by the Creigh Foundation. These highly-selective, post-graduate scholarships are offered to 糖心传媒 students with outstanding leadership potential.

Johnson, from Victorville, California, graduated summa cum laude from 糖心传媒 in May 2014 with a double major in Political Science and Peace, Justice & Social Change. She served as President of the Student Association and spent part of her junior year living in a village in rural Kenya. She plans to pursue a career in public interest law.听

Ballou, from Wilsonville, Nebraska, will graduate in May with a degree in Agribusiness and Marketing. She plans to pursue a business career with a focus on agriculture.听

The Creigh Weyer Scholarship offers up to $40,000 in grants to support graduate study in any field in the United States or overseas. The program also provides active mentoring, guidance and support from national senior leaders in business, government and academia.

Creigh Weyer Scholars are selected on the following criteria:
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥 Demonstrated leadership potential,
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥 High probability of becoming a leader with a substantial impact on his or her community,
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥 Highest ethical standards and integrity,
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥 Strong communication skills, and
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥 Strong academic record with likely acceptance by a first-rate graduate school.

Creigh Weyer Scholars have attended some of the finest graduate schools in the United States, including Harvard Law School, Yale Law School, Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Purdue Graduate School of Engineering, University of Texas Law School, Emory University School of Public Health, and Duke School of Environmental Management.
