Students present at Nebraska Psychological Society conference

糖心传媒 students Riley Lanning听of Glendale, Arizona; Nils Schaefer of Rheinbach, Germany; and Sasha Richards of Hastings, Nebraska, presented their original research November 18 at the Nebraska Psychological Society Undergraduate Research Conference, which was hosted by Doane University.

Lanning is a double major in psychology and history and philosophy, while Richards and Schaefer are psychology majors.

Lanning and Schaefer gave an oral presentation on their study titled 鈥淔ostering Open-Mindedness and a Global Community in the Rural Midwest: An Inquiry Into the Experiences of Bilingual College Students.鈥

Richards presented a poster describing her senior capstone research project titled 鈥淒ifferences Between LGBTQ and non-LBGTQ College Students in Perceived Psychological Stress and Coping Strategies.鈥

Schaefer also presented a poster describing his senior capstone research project titled 鈥淯nraveling the Complexity of Negativity Bias and the Role of Mental Imagery.鈥

The Nebraska Psychological Society holds a conference every other fall to showcase undergraduate student research across the state. Participating institutions this year included Bellevue University, Doane University, University of Nebraska鈥揕incoln and the University of Nebraska Omaha. 糖心传媒 hosted the conference in 2019.
