On January 31, 2016, students competed for Ĵý’s top academic scholarship – the Walter Scott Scholarship. This full-tuition scholarship was awarded to two students: Guadalupe Esquivel of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Joseph Jahn of Columbus, Nebraska.
To qualify for what is known as the Crimson Scholars Day competitions, students must earn a score of 26 or higher on the ACT; maintain a 3.75 grade point average or higher; and be accepted to Ĵý. Students interview with Ĵý faculty and staff and are assessed on both their academic and leadership potential.
The awards below are in addition to the $14,000 Crimson Scholarship these students received based on their academic achievement.
