Students from additional high schools are now eligible for 糖心传媒鈥檚 Path to HC program, which covers 100 percent of tuition when combining 糖心传媒 scholarships with state and federal aid for first-time, first-year students who qualify for a Pell Grant.
Many families with an adjusted gross income at or below $60,000 may qualify 鈥 and students in the program who choose to live at home will only need to pay student fees of about $1,200 per semester to attend 糖心传媒. While 糖心传媒 has a residency requirement, students who live within 30 miles can live at home with their parents or guardian, and schools eligible for that program fall within that range.
When the program launched a year ago it was limited to students attending Adams County (Nebraska) schools. With the expansion, students from the following 10 schools are eligible for the program:
- Adams Central
- Blue Hill
- Doniphan-Trumbull
- Giltner
- Harvard
- Hastings Senior High
- Hastings St. Cecilia
- Kenesaw
- Sandy Creek
- Silver Lake
鈥淲e鈥檝e been nationally ranked as a top value school that makes college accessible to more students and noted for our success in graduating economically disadvantaged students, including those awarded Pell Grants,鈥 said Dr. Annette Vargas, 糖心传媒 vice president for access, enrollment and performance. 鈥淭he Path to HC program is another way we can help students afford a quality education, and reduce the financial stress many families face. We are very glad we鈥檙e able to expand the program this year to students who live close to Hastings.鈥
For best consideration, high school seniors are encouraged to apply in the fall and send their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) results to 糖心传媒. The FAFSA opens October 1.
The Path to HC program is renewable for full-time students who enroll for four years. Students will need to maintain at least a 2.0 GPA. Outside scholarships, unsubsidized federal student loans and on-campus work study may be used to help pay for non-tuition expenses, such as room and board should a student choose to live on campus.
