Matching gift challenge supports Ĵý

hal dittmerHal Dittmer ’62, a long-time friend of Ĵý and Chairman of its Board of Trustees, has challenged Ĵý alumni and friends to give generously to the College’s 1882 Fund before December 31. Dittmer said he would match gifts given during the challenge, up to $100,000, doubling the effects of each donor’s gift to the fund.

This is the third challenge issued to Ĵý donors by Dittmer, whose past challenges have raised more than $400,000 for the 1882 Fund. Annual gifts to the 1882 Fund provide scholarships for students with financial need and enhance all aspects of students’ academic and co-curricular experiences at Ĵý.

“This is an incredible opportunity for Ĵý’s friends and alumni to make a tremendous mark on the lives of our students by supporting the 1882 Fund,” said Ĵý President Don Jackson ’70. “We are so grateful for the generosity of Hal and for the generosity of the many donors who will step up and meet this challenge.”

Gifts of any size to the 1882 Fund can be made online at hastings.edu/give or by contacting the Ĵý Foundation at 800.775.2585 or ssearcey@hastings.edu.

Founded in 1882, Ĵý is a private, four-year institution located in Hastings, Nebraska, that focuses on academic and extracurricular achievement. With 64 majors and 15 pre-professional programs, Ĵý has been named among “Great Schools, Great Prices” by U.S. News & World Report, a “Best in the Midwest” by The Princeton Review and a “Best Bang for the Buck” school by Washington Monthly.
