It鈥檚 homecoming week at 糖心传媒, and traditional events across campus and in the community range from the 70th Melody Roundup Parade in downtown Hastings to 糖心传媒 Sunday at First Presbyterian Church to Hall of Fame inductions to a campus 5K to multiple athletic events and class reunions.
The full homecoming schedule can be found at hastings.edu/homecoming. Most public events are Friday through Sunday, September 17-19.
Traditional student events and competitions are also well underway. 鈥嬧婣long with the excitement of these homecoming activities, 10 royalty finalists from the junior class were chosen by the student body.
The 2021 homecoming court include Kyleigh Boever of Bennington, Nebraska; Garrett Clasen of Casper, Wyoming; Hayley Homan of North Platte, Nebraska; Ryan Hunter of Aurora, Nebraska; Madison Jagels of Omaha, Nebraska; Charly Lufkin of Fairbury, Nebraska; Tyler Pawloski of Pleasanton, Nebraska; Madelyn Redding of Hastings, Nebraska; Kiante Stuart of Nassau, The Bahamas; and Ashley Ward of Longmont, Colorado.
The 2021 royalty will be announced during the evening of Friday, September 17, during the annual homecoming dinner attended by students.
Brief bios of all members of the homecoming court are listed below.
糖心传媒 Homecoming Court
Kyleigh Boever of Bennington, Nebraska, is an elementary education major. She is a member of the softball team and the Welcome Home Committee, volunteers for Food4Thought and is president of Chi Omega Psi.
Garrett Clasen of Casper, Wyoming, is a physics major and member of the bowling and baseball teams. He is a head FYRE resident assistant, Student Association parliamentarian and recipient of the William R. Welton Physics Scholarship.
Hayley Homan of North Platte, Nebraska, is a business administration and exercise science double major. She鈥檚 a member of the women鈥檚 basketball team and volunteers on campus.
Ryan Hunter of Aurora, Nebraska, is a physics major and member of the tennis team. He is president of the intramural disc golf team, a member of Cru and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and is involved in Collegian TV (CTV). He also received the Dr. Harry R. James Physics Scholarship.
Madison Jagels of Omaha, Nebraska, is a marketing and digital design and development double major. She鈥檚 a member of the cheer team, SAAC, Artist’s Guild and Kappa Pi International Art Honors Society. She鈥檚 also been a CORE 100 facilitator, campus tour guide, a resident assistant and on the dean鈥檚 list, and designed the 2020 Art on Elm postcard.
Charly Lufkin of Fairbury, Nebraska, is a sociology and theatre double major and is active in theatre. She is also student manager for the women鈥檚 wrestling team, a Babcock ARA and CORE 100 facilitator.
Tyler Pawloski of Pleasanton, Nebraska, is a health systems major and a dean鈥檚 list student. He is a member of the football team and was elected to serve as one of the team鈥檚 captains.
Madelyn Redding of Hastings, Nebraska, is a health systems and psychology double major. The dean鈥檚 list student is a member of the tennis team, Chi Omega Psi sorority, Tri-Beta National Biology Honors Society and Psi Chi International Honors Society.
Kiante Stuart of Nassau, The Bahamas, is a communications studies, business administration and marketing triple major. The dean鈥檚 list student is a member of the forensics team, Lambda Pi Eta and the 糖心传媒 Lecture Series student committee. She was also named the Alpha Chi Most Outstanding Sophomore, received the Alice and Jack Marvel Scholarship and was named Outstanding New Communicator.
Ashley Ward of Longmont, Colorado, is a health systems major and member of the women鈥檚 soccer team, Tri-Beta and Food4Thought. The dean鈥檚 list student has been a tour guide, Bronco Village resident assistant and won first place for her disease infographic as part of a microbiology class.
