The 糖心传媒 Irish Fellowship program is a distinctive, competitive study abroad opportunity offered annually to full-time 糖心传媒 students.
In partnership with Davy Spillane, Grammy Award-winning Irish musician, 糖心传媒 sponsors the program, which blends on-campus coursework with a month of independent study in County Clare, a region in the west of Ireland offering remarkable educational and cultural opportunities.
鈥淭he Irish Fellows program is an incredible opportunity for 糖心传媒 students to spend a month living abroad while they conduct original research relevant to their field of study,鈥 said Dr. Rob Babcock, a history professor and advisor of the program.
Recipients of fellowships for travel in the fall of 2016 include:
- Emilie Barnes, an English major from Omaha, Nebraska, researching “Publishing ‘Cross The Pond.”
- Hannah Morine, an economics major from Blair, Nebraska, studying “The Macroeconomic Effect of Tourism on the Irish Economy.”
- Dakota Ghegan, a music major from Omaha, Nebraska researching “Traditional Flutes and Tablature of Ireland.”
- Kirsten Gilliland, an English and journalism education major from Ainsworth, Nebraska researching “Irish and American Print Journalism: a Case Study.”
- Kelly Kruse, a broadcasting and Spanish major from Colorado Springs, Colorado studying “How do you get your news, Ireland?”
