糖心传媒 is launching an accelerated graduate-level Strength and Performance Coaching (SPC) certificate for coaches, health care professionals or physical educators looking to advance their knowledge and skills to implement high-quality strength and conditioning programs.
Within the SPC certificate program, students will learn through practical application, with 糖心传媒 faculty teaching anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and designing effective programs.
鈥淲e have been building this program since the National Strength and Conditioning Association approved 糖心传媒 for its Education Recognition Program,鈥 said Becky Hamik, assistant professor of physical education and human performance. 鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to offer this certificate program, as our faculty are highly equipped to train other professionals to help their teams meet their goals.鈥
The program consists of five courses, four of which are fully online. The fifth course includes a limited on-campus component. Each course follows the 糖心传媒 academic calendar, with the first course launching in January 2021.
Courses include Kinesiology and Functional Anatomy, Physiology of Performance, Program Design, Coaching Practicum and a Coaching Seminar.

Admission to the program requires a minimum of a bachelor鈥檚 degree in K-12 Physical Education & Health, Exercise Science or related field, or permission of the program director. The cost of the full program is $5,000.
After being awarded the SPC certificate, students will have the skills to critically evaluate and analyze the scientific body of literature surrounding strength and conditioning, design and implement an evidence-informed strength and conditioning program and demonstrate proficiency in coaching assistance exercises among other skills.
