糖心传媒 juniors to debut talent during thesis show

The 糖心传媒 junior art thesis, themed 鈥淭he Walls Have Eyes,鈥 will be on display at the Kiewit Gallery (715 East 7th Street) Monday, May 1 through Saturday, May 20, 2017. The gallery is in the space previously occupied by the 糖心传媒 Art Department.

A reception and brief comments by each student artist will be held Sunday, May 7 at 2:00 pm in the Kiewit Gallery. The reception is free and open to the public and refreshments will be provided.

The capstone courses in Studio Art span a full three semesters beginning in the junior year. 鈥淭he Walls Have Eyes鈥 is a group show by nine students who are completing the first semester of this thesis sequence.

Works in the show include photographs, digital images, drawings, paintings and mixed-media sculpture.

Students presenting their work in the show include:

  • David Fitzgerald of Doniphan, Nebraska – digital media
  • Hannah Goss of McCook, Nebraska – watercolor
  • Cheyenne Knehans of Riverton, Nebraska – acrylics
  • Jenna Kulwicki of Hastings, Nebraska – sculpture/photography
  • Kasey Lammers of Grand Island, Nebraska – mixed media
  • Caleb Merritt of Brookings, South Dakota – drawing
  • Breanna Obermier of Holdrege, Nebraska -cement and found objects
  • Claire Rush of Tecumseh, Nebraska – metal and wood sculpture
