The 糖心传媒 Tree Campus USA Committee will host an Arbor Day program at noon on Friday, April 28 near the bridge over Heartwell Creek adjacent to the Gray Center for Communication Arts. The celebration is open to the public and includes the student-led planting of a Shumard Oak, the Great Plains Tree of the Year.
糖心传媒 is a 2016 Tree Campus USA award winner from the Arbor Day Foundation. It鈥檚 students, groundskeepers, faculty, staff and emeriti volunteers have planted more than 300 new trees in the past eight years.
In 2016 alone, 68 trees comprised of 22 species were planted. In doing so, the campus community contributed 710 hours of volunteer service to the 糖心传媒 Arboretum in 2016.
