Homecoming is in full swing at 糖心传媒, with bed races, chalk walk and dodgeball battle events occurring throughout this week. As students prepare their skits and ready themselves for homecoming weekend, they selected 10 royalty finalists from the junior class.
Queen candidates finalists include Hannah Adams of Cairo, Nebraska; Zoe Dahlgren of Axtell, Nebraska; Shandra Farmer of Hastings, Nebraska; Delaney Feezell of Hastings, Nebraska; and Chloe Swoboda of Juniata, Nebraska.
King candidate finalists include Holden Banks of Thornton, Colorado; Bryce Byrn of North Platte, Nebraska; Kaelan Dea of Greenwood, Nebraska; Timothy Ellis of Red Cloud, Nebraska; and Zach Kitten of Hastings, Nebraska. (Additional biographical information is below.)
The 2018 Homecoming King, Queen, Prince and Princess will be announced Friday, September 21, at the Hastings City Auditorium during the annual Homecoming dinner.

糖心传媒 2018 Queen Candidate Finalists
Hannah Adams听of Cairo, Nebraska, is majoring in marketing and art with an emphasis in graphic design, and is the daughter of Darren and Charity Adams. The dean鈥檚 list student is the Student Association treasurer, the Sigma Alpha Iota treasurer, an INT mentor, a Resident Assistant and is a Week of Welcome chair.
Zoe Dhalgren听of Axtell, Nebraska, is the daughter of Rick and Jill Dhalgren and is majoring in music education. She is currently involved in the Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) and is on its worship team, is the vice president for Sigma Alpha Iota and thea historian for National Association for Music Education (NAfAME). Dhalgren is also in the band, the 糖心传媒 Choir and the musical theatre ensemble.
Shandra Farmer听of Hastings, Nebraska, is majoring in business administration and human resource management, and is the daughter of Tim and Lori Farmer. As an active member in Psi Chi and the women’s basketball team, she has been named First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-American, while also being a dean鈥檚 list student.
Delaney Feezell听of Hastings, Nebraska, is the daughter of Travis and Carol Feezell, and is majoring in studio and digital art. She is a dean鈥檚 list student, and an active member of the Artist Guild and Digital Fabrication Club. Her work, 鈥淐ooking in Color: Racialized food and food imagery in America,鈥 was published by Randolph-Macon College Research Fair in 2017.
Chloe Swoboda听of Juniata, Nebraska, is the daughter of Jay and Jennifer Swoboda, and is majoring in health systems. Swoboda is on the Week of Welcome Committee, Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC) and Local Global, and is involved in Student Association, Chi Omega Psi and Love Your Melon. The dean鈥檚 list student is also Student Ambassador and volunteers off campus.

Holden Banks听of Thornton, Colorado, is the son of Shane and Lynn Banks and is majoring in wildlife biology. Banks is a dean鈥檚 list student, Resident Assistant, a Student Alumni Association leader and is involved with Local Global and other volunteer positions.
Bryce Byrn听of North Platte, Nebraska, is the son of John and Shelly Byrn and is majoring in education and health. Byrn is on the 糖心传媒 Broncos Baseball team and is a dean鈥檚 list student.
Kaelan Dea听of Greenwood, Nebraska, is majoring in marketing and is the son of Derrick and Sherry Dea. He is on the football team and is the Student Association parliamentarian, Professional Business Leaders recruitment coordinator, a Fire Circle delegate and a Resident Assistant. He is also involved with the Marketing Club, Talent Pool, the Student Academic Advisory Committee and the Food Service Committee.
Timothy Ellis听of Red Cloud, Nebraska, is the son of Stan and Tori Ellis and is majoring in vocal performance and music education. He was named the 2018-19 Presser Scholar, is a Resident Assistant, the vice president of NAfME, a Fine Arts student senator and an Instruction and Faculty Relations Committee Representative. Ellis is involved in the 糖心传媒 Choir, Bell Choir, musical theatre ensemble, Cru, NAfME, Student Education Association and National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Zach Kitten听of Hastings, Nebraska, is the son of Rod and Ronnett Kitten and is majoring in business administration. Kitten is on the 糖心传媒 Broncos Men鈥檚 Basketball Team and is a dean鈥檚 list student.
