Forensics team continues success; first-year students taking home wins

The Hastings Forensics Team had a great weekend at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, for the Bulldog Swing in mid-October. First-year student Conner Taylor secured his first win of the season, after first-year student Chloe Carson secured her first win the previous weekend.

The team was set to travel to Manhattan, Kansas, for the Sunflower Swing hosted by Kansas State University and Bethel College on October 20-21.

Results from the weekend include:

October 13

  • Conner Taylor, a first-year student from Omaha, Nebraska, placed fifth in After Dinner Speaking.
  • Samantha Burke, a sophomore from Denver, Colorado, placed sixth in Extemporaneous Speaking.
  • Elizabeth Hansen, a junior from Fremont, Nebraska, placed third in After Dinner Speaking.

October 14

  • Conner Taylor, a first-year student from Omaha, Nebraska, placed first in Dramatic Interpretation and second in After Dinner Speaking.
  • Jordanna McCauley, a first-year student from Trenton, Nebraska, placed seventh in Poetry Interpretation.
  • Elizabeth Hansen, a junior from Fremont, Nebraska, placed fourth in After Dinner Speaking.

The 糖心传媒 forensics team continues a long-running tradition of national competitive success, placing in the top 20 at the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET) for many of the past ten years. Most recently, 糖心传媒 placed 8th at AFA-NIET 2018.
