The inaugural First 48, a program developed by the 糖心传媒 Student Engagement team, Alumni Association and Bronco football, will welcome more than 50 first-year football players to campus Friday, August 5, two days before fall camp begins.
First 48 aims to connect the student athletes with 糖心传媒 resources and to reduce barriers that may prevent first year football players from achieving their collegiate goals, while maximizing their 糖心传媒 experience.
During the two days, students will attend sessions and activities focused on strategies for enhancing their overall wellbeing, including academic, financial, technology, mental health, physical health, social engagement and relationships. They will also have opportunities to develop mentoring relationships with staff, student leaders and Gridiron Club members, who are individuals that support the 糖心传媒 football program.
Student athletes and their families arrive the morning of Friday, August 5. After moving into their residence halls, they鈥檒l be together for a welcome and activities, with families leaving at 5:00 p.m.
On Saturday, August 6, student athletes will participate in activities and additional sessions during the day before meeting with Pete Ferguson 鈥96, having dinner with 25 Gridiron members and then meeting with Dr. Tom Osborne 鈥59.
Football camp then opens Sunday, August 7.
