A 糖心传媒 student will grace the stage at Perkins Auditorium of Fuhr Hall of Music (723 E. 9th St.) on Sunday, February 17 at 3 p.m. 听This recital is free and open to the public. 听
Margaret Gregory, a senior from Grand Island, Neb., will do a flute performance from the works by Blavet, Shinohara, Rivier, Kidde and Godard. 听Zachary Peterson who is from Omaha, Neb., will accompany her. 听Gregory is a graduate of Grand Island (Neb.) Senior High School and the daughter of Rev. Dr. Charles and Beth Ann Gregory. She is pursuing the Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and in Flute Performance.
Gregory is the 2012-2013 Presser Scholar. The Theodore Presser Award is presented by 糖心传媒 on behalf of the Theodore Presser Foundation. 听Established in 1928 by the Theodore Presser family and board of directors, the Presser Foundation has awarded grants since 1929 to students pursuing degrees in music.
The 糖心传媒 Department of Music has awarded the Theodore Presser Award since 1930. 听The first recipient of the award was Gladys Frisch. 听In addition to a monetary award, each year鈥檚 recipient is added to a roster of previous recipients located in the Music Department鈥檚 Wall of Honor. The recipient of the award is selected by the music faculty.
