At the first tournament of the season, the 糖心传媒 Forensics Team placed first as a team both days at the CornsTALK swing hosted by Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, on September 28 and 29.
The team secured 63 percent of the top placings at the tournament and all team members returned home with at least one award.

September 28, 2019
- Natalie Watson, a first-year student from Franklin, Tennessee, placed second in Informative Speaking and third in Program Oral Interpretation.
- Nikki DeSeriere, a first-year student from Westminster, Colorado, placed fourth in Poetry Interpretation and fourth in After Dinner Speaking.
- Kole Gieseke, a first-year student from Park Rapids, Minnesota, placed fourth in Dramatic Interpretation and sixth in Informative Speaking.
- Claire Nelson, a sophomore from Bagley, Minnesota, placed second in After Dinner Speaking, second in Persuasive Speaking and fourth in Impromptu Speaking.
- Sam Johnson, a sophomore from Hastings, Nebraska, placed third in Informative Speaking and fifth in Extemporaneous Speaking.
- Chloe Carson, a sophomore from Eagan, Minnesota, placed second in Dramatic Interpretation and second in Duo Interpretation with Courtney Hanson, a junior from Brookings, South Dakota.
- Courtney Hanson, a junior from Brookings, South Dakota, placed first in Duo Interpretation with Alli Kennon, a senior from Lakeville, Minnesota, second in Duo Interpretation with Chloe Carson, a sophomore from Eagan, Minnesota, third in After Dinner Speaking and fourth in Prose Interpretation.
- Sam Burke, a junior from Denver, Colorado, placed second in Poetry Interpretation, second in Extemporaneous Speaking and third in Informative Speaking.
- Isaabella Mu帽oz, a junior from Worland, Wyoming, placed first in Program Oral Interpretation and third in Prose Interpretation.
- Elizabeth Hansen, a senior from Fremont, Nebraska, placed second in Impromptu Speaking and second in Program Oral Interpretation.
- Alli Kennon, a senior from Lakeville, Minnesota, placed first in Prose Interpretation, first in Dramatic Interpretation, first in Persuasive Speaking and first in Duo Interpretation with Courtney Hanson, a junior from Brookings, South Dakota.
- Nathan Navratil, a senior from Lino Lakes, Minnesota, placed first in After Dinner Speaking and second in Prose Interpretation.

The 糖心传媒 forensics team continues a long-running tradition of national competitive success, placing in the top 20 at the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET) for many of the past ten years. Most recently, 糖心传媒 placed 9th at AFA-NIET 2019.
