糖心传媒 student Suzette Escamilla Morales has been named a Creigh Weyer Scholar by the Creigh Foundation. These highly-selective, post-graduate scholarships are offered to 糖心传媒 students with outstanding leadership potential.
Escamilla Morales is a senior from Hastings, Nebraska, who is double majoring in economics and political science and plans to attend graduate school in international economics and international relations.
She has already received some of the most prestigious scholarships in her field, including receiving a Gilman Scholarship a year ago, which allowed her to intern last summer at the U.S. Embassy in Albania, and in 2016 she was awarded a Boren Scholarship, which allowed her to study in India during the 2016-17 academic year. She was also a finalist for a Rangel Fellowship.
The Creigh Weyer Scholarship offers up to $40,000 in grants to support graduate study in any field in the United States or overseas. The program also provides active mentoring, guidance and support from senior national leaders in business, government and academia.
Creigh Weyer Scholars are selected on the following criteria:
- Demonstrated leadership potential,
- High probability of becoming a leader with a substantial impact on his or her community,鈥
- Highest ethical standards and integrity,鈥
- Strong communication skills, and鈥
- Strong academic record with likely acceptance by a first-rate graduate school.
Creigh Weyer Scholars are expected to attend one of the top graduate schools in their chosen field. Previous scholars have been accepted by some of the finest graduate schools in the United States, including Columbia, Duke, Emory, Georgetown, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, MIT, NYU, Northwestern, Penn, Purdue, University of California, University of Michigan, University of Texas and Yale.
