Eight individuals, two teams entering 糖心传媒 Athletic Hall of Fame

Eight individuals and two teams are among the 33rd class to join the 糖心传媒 Athletic Hall of Fame during a reception and banquet held in conjunction with 糖心传媒 Homecoming on Saturday, September 24.

The Athletic Hall of Fame induction begins with a social hour at Kiewit Gymnasium (715 E. 7th Street) on campus at 5:00 p.m., followed by a banquet at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person and may be purchased at hastings.edu/homecoming or by contacting the 糖心传媒 alumni office at 402.461.7363 or alumni@hastings.edu.

The Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1989 to honor and preserve the memory of athletes, teams, coaches and those who have contributed meritorious service to 糖心传媒 and its athletic programs.

The 2022 糖心传媒 Athletic Hall of Fame class includes:

  • Ladd Cochrane 鈥58 of Chandler, Arizona, for football
  • Jeff Faiman 鈥01 of Omaha, Nebraska, for baseball
  • Tamisha Rose-Osgood 鈥06 of Hastings, Nebraska, for track and field
  • Rebecca (Glisan) Hester 鈥12 of Omaha, Nebraska, for women鈥檚 soccer
  • Gabriel Wickham 鈥12 of Phillipsburg, Kansas, for track and field
  • Cody Weber 鈥12/14 MAT of Omaha, Nebraska, for track and field
  • Jessica (Carlson) Dyer 鈥13 of Papillion, Nebraska, for women鈥檚 soccer
  • Mike Will of Hastings, Nebraska, for meritorious service
  • 1971 Men鈥檚 Track team, won both the NIAC Conference and District 11 Championships
  • 2010 Women鈥檚 Soccer team, posted a 17-5-3 season record, including an 11-0-1 Conference record, and finished as National Runner Up

Inductee Biographies

Ladd Cochrane 鈥58 was the leading rusher on the 1954 football team with 821 yards rushing in nine games and was an all-NCC selection in 1954.

Jeff Faiman 鈥01 held four 糖心传媒 records at the time of his graduation in 2001, including single season home runs (10), RBI鈥檚 (60), doubles (57) and career home runs (26). He was a First Team all-conference selection and Second Team All-American in 2000.

Tamisha Rose-Osgood 鈥06 was a two-time All-American in the 400-meter event. As of 2019, she ranked first all-time in the 400-meter indoor and outdoor events and the 600-meter indoor event, sixth in the 400-meter hurdles, seventh in the 200-meter outdoor event, and ninth in both the 100-meter and 200-meter indoor events.

Rebecca (Glisan) Hester 鈥12 was a mainstay in the women鈥檚 soccer team鈥檚 national tournament run and was the Great Plains Athletic Conference鈥檚 Defensive Player of the Year in 2010 and 2011. She was a First Team All-GPAC selection in 2010 and 2011, a 2010 H.M. All-American, 2011 Second Team All-American, and was selected to the 2010 NAIA All-Tournament Team.

Gabriel Wickham 鈥12 finished as a two-time National Champion in the weight throw in 2011 and 2012, setting a national record and being named Performer of the Meet. As of 2019, he ranks second in the indoor weight and outdoor hammer throws and fourth in the javelin throw.

Cody Weber 鈥12/14 MAT was a three-time All-American in the indoor and outdoor weight, shot and hammer throws in 2010, 2011 and 2012. As of 2019, he ranks third in the indoor shot put, fifth in the outdoor shot put, fourth in the 35 lb. weight throw, and fifth in the hammer throw.

Jessica (Carlson) Dyer 鈥13 was the GPAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2010 and selected as a two-time forward on the 2009 and 2010 GPAC All-Conference teams. She also was a two-time Honorable Mention selection for the NAIA Women鈥檚 Soccer All-America team and a member of the Omaha World-Herald鈥檚 all-state women鈥檚 soccer team which honors the state鈥檚 best players in the NAIA.

Mike Will has been working in the radio industry for the past 40 years and has been the voice of the Broncos since 1999, providing play-by-play coverage for football, basketball and baseball games. Will was named Media Person of the Year by the Nebraska Coaches Association in 2011 and has won various broadcasting awards from the Nebraska Broadcasters Association.

The 1971 Men鈥檚 Track team won both the NIAC Conference and District 11 Championships. The 2010 Women鈥檚 Soccer team completed an incredible run deep into the NAIA National Tournament. After posting an 11-0-1 GPAC conference record, the Broncos finished as the National Runner-Up, completing an overall record of 17-5-3. 糖心传媒 is a four-year residential college that focuses on student academic and extracurricular achievement.
