The 糖心传媒 Cultural Festival is designed to showcase various cultures present at 糖心传媒 and in the entire Hastings community, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds to socialize through food, music and dance.
This year鈥檚 Cultural Festival is set for Sunday, November 11 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in Kiewit Gymnamsium (715 E. 7th Street). The event is free and open to the public.
鈥淭he goal of this festival is to promote diversity and inclusion among the 糖心传媒 community, as well as foster friendship and good neighborliness among both the campus and throughout Hastings,鈥 said Dr. Moses Dogbevia, one of the event鈥檚 organizers who is a professor of chemistry at the College.
The initiative is an effort on the part of Multicultural Student Union and the 糖心传媒 Diversity Team, in collaboration with Hastings YWCA and the Multicultural Association of Hastings.
The event began in 2009 and has grown annually, with more than 500 people joining the festival last year. Dogbevia said several acts will offer ethnic-themed performances, and a number of booths will serve ethnic foods from around the globe.
