糖心传媒 students Anthony Cloyd and Brian Whetstone have been named Creigh Weyer Scholars by the Creigh Foundation. These highly-selective, post-graduate scholarships are offered to 糖心传媒 students with outstanding leadership potential.
Cloyd, from Omaha, Nebraska, is a biology major and plans to attend medical school. He is听currently a member of the football team and completed an undergraduate pancreatic cancer research program last summer at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Whetstone, from Kearney, Nebraska, is a history major who plans to pursue a Ph.D. in historic preservation. He is a member of the student senate and completed a historic preservation field study program last summer at Colonial Williamsburg.
The Creigh Weyer Scholarship offers up to $40,000 in grants to support graduate study in any field in the United States or overseas. The program also provides active mentoring, guidance and support from national senior leaders in business, government and academia.
Creigh Weyer Scholars are selected on the following criteria:
- Demonstrated leadership potential,
- High probability of becoming a leader with a substantial impact on his or her community,
- Highest ethical standards and integrity,
- Strong communication skills, and
- Strong academic record with likely acceptance by a first-rate graduate school.
Creigh Weyer Scholars are expected to attend one of the top graduate schools in their chosen field. Previous scholars have been accepted by some of the finest graduate schools in the United States, including Columbia, Duke, Emory, Georgetown, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University, Northwestern, Penn, Purdue, University of California, University of Michigan, University of Texas and Yale.
