As part of the conference, each college or university represents a country during a simulated UN General Assembly session. The 糖心传媒 team will represent Niger, developing the country鈥檚 positions on resolutions before the full assembly and voting based on the country鈥檚 positions. Located in west Africa, Niger is a land-locked country bordered by Nigeria and Algeria, among several smaller countries.

Euroscepticism in Europe topic of upcoming public lecture /news/euroscepticism-in-europe-topic-of-upcoming-public-lecture/ Wed, 29 Oct 2014 00:00:00 +0000 https://staging.hastings.edu/euroscepticism-in-europe-topic-of-upcoming-public-lecture/ Dr. Ingrid Bego, Assistant Professor of Political Science at 糖心传媒, will give the first Artist Lecture Series Invited Faculty Lecture of the 2014-15 academic year on Friday, November 7, 2014, at 10 a.m. in French Memorial Chapel (800 N. Turner Ave.). Her presentation, 鈥淓uropean Far Right Resurgence in the Age of Nicki Minaj & Iggy Azalea,鈥 is free and open to the public.

Dr. Bego, a native of Albania who advises 糖心传媒鈥檚 Model United Nations Club听will explore the rise of the radical right in Europe and its causes before connecting the anti-European Union sentiments, known as Euroscepticism, to the age of globalization and interconnectedness.

Considered a prestigious honor for the faulty, students vote to select two professors to present the Artist Lecture Series Invited Faculty Lectures on the topic of their choosing. In Spring 2015, Dr. Michella Marino, Assistant Professor of History, will present the academic year鈥檚 second lecture.

Bio for Dr. Ingrid Bego:

Dr. Bego comes to 糖心传媒 from teaching at the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay. Originally from Albania, Dr. Bego鈥檚 undergraduate degree in German and Spanish is from Washburn University, where she earned an MA in political science in 2006. Her PhD in political science (with distinction) is from Washington State University.
